On 26 March, as part of the House of Sustainability’s ongoing Governance Sustainability Cycle, a webinar was held to help companies better understand and prepare for the application of the new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The session brought together regulatory and business experts who shared their perspectives on how best to navigate this important piece of legislation.

The event was opened by Anne-Marie Loesch, Head of Sustainability & Business Development at the House of Sustainability, who underlined the wide impact of the regulation on Luxembourg businesses and their supply chains.

Juliette Petit, Sustainability Advisor at the House of Sustainability, provided an overview of the regulation — outlining the timeline, scope of application, compliance criteria, and potential sanctions for non-compliance. Her intervention aimed at introducing the core legal requirements of the regulation.

The session continued with a concrete business case presented by Nicola Somenzi, Head of Responsible Sourcing at Ferrero, who explained how the company is approaching EUDR compliance in practice. His insights shed light on implementation challenges, internal process optimization, and good practices on traceability and collaboration with suppliers.
